Gaming Event - Melhus Municipality
Melhus Municipality approached me with the idea of hosting a gaming event as part of their "Summer in Melhus" initiative. This event took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. I assembled a talented team to make it happen, and we received great feedback from both the organizers and attendees. The event featured games like CS:GO, Minecraft, Fortnite, and several others.
The Project
The goal of the project was to create a safe and fun environment where young people could come together, enjoy gaming, make new friends, try out different games, and win prizes.
Team Responsibilities
- IT Support
- Cleaning
- Opening and closing the venue
- Moderating chat on game servers and live streams
Live Streaming
We also hosted a live stream, partnering with two technicians from the Sound and Light department at the Melhus Culture School. During the stream, we had guest speakers from local businesses and teachers from nearby high schools who presented webinars on the pros and cons of gaming and esports.
Hosting and Server Management
To enhance the event experience, we set up dedicated game servers for Minecraft and CS:GO. The Minecraft server was the most popular, offering Survival, PVP, and more.
A big thank you to Melhus Municipality for the project and the excellent collaboration.
